The Department of Finance launched its five-year Corporate Plan 2018-2022 on August 16 2018 at Holiday Inn. On that day was also the first AGM of the Association of Government Accountants and Public Finance Managers Inc.
Present at the launching were the Finance Minister, James Marape, and Secretary for Finance, Dr. Ken Ngangan. Dr. Ngangan said the department’s focus over the duration of the plan, is to assist the government to create a smarter, more productive, and sustainable public sector.
He said with the plan, the department has consolidated its purposes to assist the government, to achieve policy outcomes by advising on expenditure, managing sustainable public resource, driving public sector transformation and delivering cost-effective service to the people.
