The Department has a role to play in fulfilling the Government’s
agenda on Governance, Recovery and
Development leading to economic growth. This
Website aims to record progress made in implementing

directives of Government.
As political head of the department, I have taken a definite position on
issues of performance and
development impact and have made sure that
such issues were addressed to achieve the Government’s
agenda for
development.
As enshrined in the Constitution, the Government’s overall objective is
to create a society in which
each citizen can have every prospect of a
better quality of life. The role of the Department of Finance
within
this objective is to develop and constantly improve the transparency and
accountability of
accounting and financial reporting and their
frameworks of effectively manage public resources. I
believe having an
information and communication avenue such as this website will in one
way create
openness, transparency and accountability about the financial
affairs of the nation.
